Skill Level: Absolute Beginner using PSP
This tutorial is written for Windows 10

This is Lesson 13 of a series of tutorials for the absolute beginner with PSP.
It is recommended that you complete the tutorials in numerical order, as each new one will build on the knowledge gained by the previous tutorials

This tutorial is my own creation, any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental

If you have another PSP version and do not understand the screen shots, email me and I will try to help you, I have several PSP versions from PSP 8 (the old Jasc version) to PSP 2020.

Program shortcuts will be given in parentheses

How do I transform something I have made in PSP into Stationery?
The options are not great in 2021, sadly it seems to be a "dying art" as pretty emails seem to disappear with people enjoying social media instead.

There used to be 3 (4) options I am aware of:
- Wikmail
- Outlook Express / OE Classic
- KuNoMail
- Incredimail

The founder and only person involved in the development of Wikmail passed away some years ago.
Sadly he took all his knowledge to the grave :(.
Recent Windows 10 Updates seem to have killed off the functionality of Wikmail.

Outlook Express / OE Classic

Outlook Express became obsolete some years ago.
OE Classic is a replacement, working very similarly.
The developer of OE Classic is very approachable and constantly improving the program.
However, I am not aware of anybody or any group teaching the basics of making stationery in OE Classic.
There are groups for the advanced user, but no information for people wanting to start out.
If anybody is aware of a group teaching the basics, please let me know.

It should be possible to import emails from Incredimail into OE Classic.

There is a newcomer on the "block" KuNoMail.
It is planned to be a replacement for Incredimail. At the time of writing (April 2021), you can use a letter created in Incredimail, however, when you reply it breaks up. There is no Letter Creator yet.
It is said that you can import your Incredimail content into KuNoMail.
You have to pay separately for all the "add-ons" to the basic license.

A much loved email program by many people. Sadly the owners (Perion) failed to properly update the program over many years.
When it became clear that the old program structure made it impossible for people to install the licenses they bought from Perion, they decided to "pull the plug".

There is still help at hand. Incredissimo has been helping countless people to keep their much loved email program.
Help, support and advice is also available from Incredimail Helpers 2.

To make stationery for Incredimail, you need the program called Letter Creator.
Letter Creator comes together with a download of the Incredimail program.
If you are new to it, you need the help of Incredissimo to get it to work.

Incredimail's Letter Creator

a) A framed image you created and saved as a .jpg/.jpeg, .png or .gif file.
Take note where you saved it

b) A background image saved as a .jpg/.jpeg, .png or .gif file.
This can be a seamless tiled file of any size
Should be saved in the same place as your framed image

Let's Start

1) Open Letter Creator

2) Header:

Header Background Color

Color = Ignore as we will choose image

Clear = Ignore

Sample = Ignore

Header Content and Layout

Image = Look for the framed image you created

Clear = Delete the chosen image
(if you want to choose another image)

Link = Ignore

Text Alignment = Center

Ignore the other options if you only want to add an image

3) Body:

Image = Look for the background image you created

Tile = Checked

Color = Ignore as we will use "Sample"

Sample = Click on background to select dominant color

Clear = Delete the chosen image
(if you want to choose another image)

Image Position = Top Left

Choose a Font and Font Size
(I recommend Size 18, some script fonts need to be 24)

Text Color = Ignore

Sample = Click on image or frame to select a color for your font color.
Make sure it contrasts well with the background in order to be text friendly

Link Color = Ignore

Sample = Choose a color from your image or frame for the links

Signature Color = Choose a color for the signatures

Top = 10
Left = depending on your background image and where you want the text
(I set it to 10 - 40 with a background with no border and about 15 - 20 to the right of a border)
Right = 10 - 40
Line spacing = 18 - 20

3) Footer:

Footer Background Color

Color = Ignore

Clear = Ignore

Sample = Ignore

Footer Content and Layout

Image = If you have a button or banner with your name, add it here

Clear = Delete the chosen image
(if you want to choose another image or text)

Link = Add Link if you wish

Font = Font of choice

Font size = Font size of choice

Text Alignment = Center

In your footer would normally go:
- Your name
- Reference and link to art used, license # if required
(To create a Link: Highlight the text, click on Link in the Footer Content and Layout and type in the link you want to use)
- Font used
- Name of tutorial used and link to the tut writer (if possible)
- Date you created this stat

4) Finish
Choose Letter Name and Collection Name
Save Project
Add to Incredimail

3D Effects

I do not fill in this part by personal choice as I have turned this effect off in Incredimail in order to let the PC run more smoothly

Of course you are free to choose the effects you like
