This tutorial is my own creation; any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental

Needed

Paint Shop Pro 9 (Tutorial should also work with other PSP versions, some adjustments might be necessary)
Free 30-day PSP trial from Corel, available here
Letter Creator from Incredimail (optional), available here

Graphic
Tube of choice, height greater than width

Texture
Texture "Canvas simple", available here

Design Element
Design Element, LB_designE_3, available here

The tutorial is in 3 parts:
- Preparation
- Background
- Assembling stationery in LC

The settings for different Tools will stay the same throughout the tutorial, unless new setting instructions are given

Don't forget to save your work often

Preparation

1) Download the texture "Canvas simple" (if you do not already have it)
Save the texture to your "Textures" folder
(Helpful hints about organizing extras for PSP are here on my website)

2) Download the design element "LB_designE_3"
Save it where you can easily find it
(I make a new subfolder for every tutorial I do in a folder called "PSP2006" - on 1st January 2007 I will start a new folder called "PSP2007" - in "My Documents" and save everything I need for a tutorial into that folder. And of course save the results into that subfolder as well)

3) File > Open
Open tube of choice

4) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)
Close original

5) Image > Resize
Settings:
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resolution = 72.000
Resample using = Bicubic
Height = 360
Width will adjust itself
Resize all layers = Checked
(My example is 287 x 360 pixels)

6) Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen
(if necessary)

7) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)
(we now have 2 copies of the tube; the second is just in case it's not on the clipboard anymore later)
Minimize one copy

8) Edit > Copy

9) Dropper Tool (E)
Choose a light color as Foreground Color
(I chose #fdfdf3)

10) Materials Palette

11) File > Open

12) Window > Duplicate (twice)
Close original
Minimize one copy

13) Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Colorize
Settings:
Hue = What you wrote down in Step #10
Saturation = What you wrote own in Step #10
Minimize colorized design element
Depending on your choice of graphic and colors you might choose to either use the original design element or the colorized design element later in the tutorial
