Performance Notes
This tutorial is in 5 parts:

The settings for different Tools and Effects will stay the same throughout the tutorial, unless new setting instructions are given

Preparation

1) Start > Documents

2) Open your Scrolling Letters Folder

3) Download, unzip and save CodeTopBorder_Oct14.txt to your Lesson Folder

4) Open CodeTopBorder_Oct14.txt
Personalize the footer section of the code according to Lesson 5
You can simply copy/paste the personalized footer section from your expanding letter code.

5) File > Save As
Give it a name you can easily identify later
You may wish to use this adjusted code for all future Topborder letters

6) Make a folder for your new letter
Save all the images and files you will create to this folder

7) Paint Shop Pro
File > Open
Open image of choice

8) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)
Close original

9) Dropper Tool (E)
Left click to choose a light Foreground color
(I chose #fcfae2)
Right click to choose a dark Background color
(I chose #2a3e02)

10) Image > Resize
Settings:
Resample using = Bicubic
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Checked
Resolution = 72.000 Pixels / Inch
Height = 250 Pixels
Width = Will self adjust

11) Adjust > Sharpness > Unsharp Mask
Settings:
Radius = 1.00, Strength = 47
Clipping = 5
Luminance only = Checked
(or a setting of your liking)

12) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)

13) Edit > Copy



Topborder

14) Image > Canvas Size
Settings:
Lock aspect ratio = Not Checked
Width = Your image + 100 Pixels
Height = Your image + 50
Placement = Middle

15) Layers > New Raster Layer

16) Layers > Arrange > Move Down

17) Flood Fill Tool (F)
Settings:
Match mode = None
Use all layers = Not checked
Blend mode = Normal
Opacity = 100

18) Left click to flood fill new layer with Foreground color

19) Selections > Select All

20) Edit > Paste Into Selection

21) Selections > Select None

22) Effects > Reflection Effects > Kaleidoscope
Settings:
Horizontal offset (%) = -22 (Minus)
Vertical offset (%) = -5 (Minus)
Rotation angle = 64
Scale factor = 53
Number of petals = 16
Number of orbits = 4
Radial suction = 79
Wrap = Checked

34) Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

35) Selection Tool (S) > Custom selection

47) Add your watermark

48) File > Save As
Settings: Save as type = .PSPIMAGE
Save in layers, so that you can make changes later if necessary

49) Window > Duplicate

50) Close the file you just saved

51) Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

52) Image > Canvas Size
Settings:
Lock aspect ratio = Not Checked
Width = 2400 Pixels
Height = Your image
Placement = Left middle

53) Layers > Duplicate

54) Effects > Image Effects > Offset
Settings:
Horizontal offset = Your image width
Vertical offset = 0
Custom = Selected
Edge mode = Transparent

55) Repeat Layers > Duplicate
and
Effects > Image Effects > Offset
until you filled all the space

56) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer
Settings:
Set compression value to = 20
Chroma subsampling = YCbCr 1x1 1x1 1x1 (None)
Save Exif data = Not checked
File name = top



Background

57) Activate your remaining tube or mist

58) Layers > New Raster Layer

59) Layers > Arrange > Move Down

60) Flood Fill Tool
Left click to flood fill new layer with Foreground color

61) Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

62) Effects > Reflection Effects > Kaleidoscope

63) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling
Settings:
Default

64) Effects > Texture Effects > Mosaic - Antique

65) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

66) Layers > New Raster Layer

Change Coding

70) Make your LC file according to instructions in Lesson 5
BUT
set your Margins as follows:
Top = Your top.jpg height and 30
Left = 25 - 50 (according to your preference)
Right = 20

72) Delete all code starting with the first Screenshot

Leave the code above the pink line (yours will look different to mine) intact

73) Open your personalized code based on CodeTopBorder_Oct14.txt

74) Edit > Select All

75) Edit > Copy

76) Again with HTML-Kit:
Edit > Paste
(into the area you deleted)

77) Make the following adjustments to the Flavor.htm to suit your images:
You need to do this with every stat you create with this method.

- Replace ******* with the name of your top image

- Replace ?*?*?*? with height and width of your top image

- Adjust the footer code

- Adjust text color (COLOR, text and SIGCOLOR)

- Adjust the link color (link, vLink, aLink)

- Adjust email text background color (bgColor)

78) File > Save



Make new .imf letter

79) Make new .imf file according to instructions in Lesson 9
