Needed

Paint Shop Pro - I used X2
(Tutorial will work with other PSP versions, some adjustments might be necessary)
Free 30 day PSP trial from Corel, available here

Performance Notes
This tutorial is in 2 parts:
- Preparation
- Background

The settings for different Tools and Effects will stay the same throughout the tutorial, unless new setting instructions are given

Preparation

1) File > Open
Open tube of choice

2) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)
Close original

3) Image > Resize
Settings:
Resample using = Bicubic
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Checked
Resolution = 72.000 Pixels / Inch
Width = No greater than 370 Pixels
Height = No greater than 370
Write down new height

4) Adjust > Sharpness > Unsharp Mask
Settings:
Radius = 1.00, Strength = 47
Clipping = 5
Luminance only = Checked
(Or a setting of your liking)

5) Dropper Tool (E)
Left click to choose a very light Foreground color
(I chose #f7f3e5)
Right click to choose a light/medium Background color
(I chose #89a5a4)

6) Edit > Copy



Background

7) Image > Canvas Size
Settings:
Aspect ratio = Not checked
Width = 1700 Pixels*****
Height = Height of your tube + 50
Placement = Left Middle Arrow
Left = 15

*****or width of your computer resolution

8) Layers > New Raster Layer

9) Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom

10) Flood Fill Tool (F)
Settings:
Match mode = None
Use all layers = Not checked
Blend mode = Normal
Opacity = 100

11) Left click to Flood fill new layer with Foreground Color

12) Selections > Select All

13) Edit > Paste Into Selection

14) Selections > Select None

15) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling
Settings:
Default

16) Layers > New Raster Layer

17) Flood Fill Tool
Right click to flood fill new layer with Background Color

18) Layers Palette
Reduce opacity to 76

19) Layers > Merge > Merge Down

20) Effects > Reflection Effects > Kaleidoscope
Settings:
Horizontal Offset (%) = 84
Vertical Offset (%) = -56 (Minus)
Rotation Angle = 187
Scale factor = -55 (Minus)
Number of petals = 2
Number of orbits = 2
Radial suction = 63
Edge mode = Reflect

Horizontal displacement
Amplitude = 23
Wavelength = 65
Vertical displacement
Amplitude = 7
Wavelength = 28
Repeat = Checked

Reduce opacity down to 40

26) Layers > Merge > Merge Down

27) Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance

28) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

29) Layers > New Raster Layer

30) Flood Fill Tool
Left click to flood fill new layer with Foreground Color

31) Layers Palette
Reduce opacity to 43
(Or a setting of your liking)

32) Activate top layer (tube)

33) Move Tool (M)
If necessary move tube into position of your liking

34) Layers > Duplicate

35) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel
Settings:
Bevel = #2, Width = 7
Smoothness = 7, Depth = 5
Ambience = 7, Shininess = 12
Color = White, Angle = 315
Intensity = 32, Elevation = 50
(Or a setting of your liking)

36) Layers > Merge > Merge Down

37) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Settings:
Horizontal & Vertical = 3
Opacity = 45, Blur = 12.00
Color = Black
Shadow on new layer = Not checked
(Or a setting of your liking)

38) Layers > New Raster Layer

39) Add Watermark(s)

40) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer
Settings:
Set Compression value to = 20 - 25
Chroma subsampling = YCbCr 1x1 1x1 1x1 (None)
Save Exif data = Not checked


You are done!
Now you can assemble the stationery in LC or OE.
