Pitokore Tag Tutorial

I used the awesome art of Chonnieartwork.
I bought it from Creative Fabrica.
I have a subscription, pay monthly and can download what and as much as I want.
The image is from the album "Christmas Car and Truck Clipart".
Skill Level: Advanced Beginners
No outside Filters/Plugins used
This tutorial is my own creation; any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental
Program shortcuts will be given in parentheses
Needed
Paint Shop Pro - I used X2
(Tutorial will work with other versions)
Free 30 day trial from Corel,

Image
Tube/s of choice
Preferably bold image, not something intricate
Template
LB_Template01.pspimage, available here (PSP format)

Font
Font of Choice – I used Kingthings Christmas (Free to Use)

The settings for different Tools and Effects will stay the same throughout the tutorial, unless new setting instructions are given

Preparation
1) Download Template in required format
Open in PSP
2) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)
Close original
3) File > Open
Open image of choice
4) Window > Duplicate
Close original
5) Activate Template
Layers Palette:
Delete the Credit layer
Highlight bottom layer
Tag
6) Magic Wand Tool
Settings:
Mode = Add
Match mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Use all layers = Not checked
Contiguous = Checked
Feather = 0
Anti-alias = Checked
Outside
7) Select the 3 sections "A"
8) On your tube:
Dropper Tool (E)
Left click to choose a Foreground color
Attention:
Choose all colors from the same "H:" (Hue)
(All within the same rectangle you have of your Color choice)
9) Flood Fill Tool (F)
Settings:
Match mode = None
Use all layers = Not checked
Blend mode = Normal
Opacity = 100
10) Back to Template
Left click to flood fill with Foreground color
11) Selections > Select None
12) Magic Wand Tool
Select the 2 sections "B"
13) Materials Palette
Left click to choose a different Foreground color
14) Flood Fill Tool
Back to Template
Left click to flood fill with Foreground color
15) Selections > Select None
16) Magic Wand Tool
Select the 2 sections "C"
17) Materials Palette
Left click to choose a different Foreground color
18) Flood Fill Tool

Delete "Letters" layer

33) Effects > Distortion Effects > Pinch
Settings:
Strength (%) = 50
34) Effects > Edge Effects > Dilate
35) Effects > Distortion Effects > Polar Coordinates
Settings:
Rectangular to polar = Checked
Repeat = Checked
36) Image > Flip
37) Effects > Texture Effects > Polished Stone
Settings:
Blur = 32, Detail = 256
Polishing = 12
Angle = 145, Color = White
This is how mine looks:

38) Edit > Paste As New Layer (your Tube)
39) Image > Resize (Shift + S)
Settings:
Width = 80 %
Height = 80
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Not checked
ok
40) Edit > Repeat Resize
Repeat until you have the tube showing to your liking.
Depending on the tube you work with, you might choose to resize in 50% steps to start with
41) Adjust > Sharpness > Unsharp Mask
Settings:
Radius = 1.00, Strength = 47
Clipping = 5
Luminance only = Checked
(Or a setting of your liking)
42) Move Tool (M)
Move tube/s to position of your liking
43) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Settings:
Horizontal & Vertical = 0
Opacity = 70, Blur = 9.50
Color = Black
Shadow on new layer = Not checked
(Or a setting of your liking)
44) Layers Palette
Activate bottom layer
Layers > New Raster Layer
45) Magic Wand Tool
Left click to select very dark Foreground color
Right click to select light Background color
46) Flood Fill Tool
Right click to flood fill with Background color
47) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise
Settings:
Uniform = Checked
Noise = 50
Monochrome = Checked
48) Time to play:
a) Change blend mode to "Burn"
b) No? Try different blend modes
c) No? Try with a different color
d) No? Try with different Opacity
e) Hate it all? Delete the flood filled layer

49) Layers > New Raster Layer
50) Layers > Arrange > Bring to Top
51) Selections > Select All
52) Flood Fill Tool
Left click to flood fill new layer
with Foreground color
53) Selections > Modify > Contract
Settings:
Number of Pixels = 1
54) Edit > Clear
55) Selections > Select None
56) Layers > Duplicate
57) Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur
Settings:
Radius = 3.00
58) Layers > Arrange > Move Down
59) Layers > New Raster Layer
60) Add your artist's copyrights
61) Text Tool (T)
Settings:
Font = Kingthings Christmas (or Font of choice)
Size = 50 Points (or what suits your Font and Text)
Alignment = Center
Direction = Horizontal and Down
Anti-alias = Sharp
Stroke width = 0.0
Create as Vector
Auto kern = Checked
Kerning = 0 (or what suits your Font and Text)
62) Type Text of choice and click on Apply
63) Layers > Convert to Raster Layer
64) Move Tool
Move Text into position of choice
65) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Settings:
Vertical = 1
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 100, Blur = 2.00
(Or a setting of your liking)
66) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer
Settings:
Set Compression value to = 10
Chroma subsampling = YCbCr 2x2 1x1 1x1
Save Exif data = Not checked
