Primavera Tag Tutorial

I used the awesome artwork of ElenaZlataArt
I bought it from Creative Fabrica.
I have a subscription, pay monthly and can download what and as much as I want.
The image is from the album "Watercolor Spring Flowers Bouquet".
Skill Level: Advanced Beginners
No outside Filters/Plugins used
This tutorial is my own creation; any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental
Program shortcuts will be given in parentheses
Needed
Paint Shop Pro - I used X2
(Tutorial will work with other versions)

The settings for different Tools and Effects will stay the same throughout the tutorial, unless new setting instructions are given

Preparation
1) File > Open
Open image of choice
2) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)
Close original
3) Dropper Tool (E)
Left click to choose a light Foreground color
(I chose #e6ebb5)
Right click to choose a dark Background color
(I chose #2e671a)
4) Edit > Copy
Minimize
5) Materials Palette
Change Foreground to Gradient
Settings:
Foreground-background
Angle = 0
Repeat = 5
Invert = Not checked
Style = Linear
Texture = Not Checked
Tag
6) File > New
Settings:
Width = 600 Pixels
Height = 250 Pixels
Resolution = 72.000 Pixels/inch
Raster Background = Checked
Color depth = RGB / 8 bits channel
Transparent = Checked
7) Flood Fill Tool (F)
Settings:
Match mode = None
Use all layers = Not checked
Blend mode = Normal
Opacity = 100
8) Left click to flood fill with Gradient
9) Adjust > Blur > Radial Blur
Settings:
Blur type = Spin
Strength = 80
Elliptical = Checked
Horizontal offset (%) = 0
Vertical offset (%) = 0
Protect center (%) = 0
10) Effects > Reflection Effects > Kaleidoscope
Settings:
Horizontal offset (%) = 0
Vertical offset (%) = 0
Rotation angle = 172
Scale factor = 20
Number of petals = 20
Number of orbits = 0
Radial suction = 100
Reflect = Checked
11) Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance
12) Effects > Reflection Effects > Feedback
Settings:
Opacity = 72
Intensity = 90
Horizontal offset (%) = -55 (minus)
Vertical offset (%) = -54 (minus)
Elliptical = Checked
13) Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance
14) Effects > Geometric Effects > Cylinder - Horizontal
Settings:
Strength (%) = 76
15) Effects > Geometric Effects > Perspective - Horizontal
Settings:
Distortion = -22 (minus)
Edge mode = Wrap
16) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise
Settings:
Uniform = 30
Monochrome = Checked
17) Edit > Paste As New Layer (your Tube)
18) Image > Resize (Shift + S)
Settings:
Width = 80 %
Height = 80
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Not checked
ok
19) Edit > Repeat Resize
Repeat until you have the tube showing to your liking.
Depending on the tube you work with, you might choose to resize in 50% steps to start with
20) Adjust > Sharpness > Unsharp Mask
Settings:
Radius = 1.00, Strength = 47
Clipping = 5
Luminance only = Checked
(Or a setting of your liking)
21) Move Tool (M)
Move tube/s to position of your liking
22) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Settings:
Horizontal & Vertical = 0
Opacity = 60, Blur = 6.00
Color = Black
Shadow on new layer = Not checked
(Or a setting of your liking)
23) Optional: (Steps a-e)
a) Layers > Duplicate
b) Image > Mirror
c) Layers Palette, change blend mode to Luminance
d) Reduce opacity to your liking (mine is 95)
e) Move into place of choice
24) Materials Palette
Change Foreground to Foreground color
Texture = Not checked
25) Layers Palette
Activate bottom layer
Layers > New Raster Layer
26) Flood Fill Tool
Left click to flood fill new layer with Foreground color
27) Time to play:
a) Change blend mode to "Soft Light"
b) No? Try different blend modes and opacity
c) Hate it? Delete the flood filled layer
28) Layers > New Raster Layer
29) Layers > Arrange > Bring to Top
30) Selections > Select All
31) Flood Fill Tool
Right click to flood fill new layer with Background color
32) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise
33) Selections > Modify > Contract
Settings:
Number of Pixels = 3
34) Edit > Clear
35) Selections > Select None
36) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
37) Layers > New Raster Layer
38) Add your artist's copyrights
39) Text Tool (T)
Settings:
Font = Christmas Blessings (or Font of choice)
Size = 48 Points (or what suits your Font and Text)
Alignment = Center
Direction = Horizontal and Down
Anti-alias = Sharp
Stroke width = 0.3
Create as Vector
Auto kern = Checked
Kerning = 0 (or what suits your Font and Text)
40) Type Text of choice and click on Apply
41) Layers > Convert to Raster Layer
42) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise
43) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel
Settings:
Bevel = #2, Width = 7
Smoothness = 5, Depth = 4
Ambience = 5, Shininess = 40
Color = White, Angle = 315
Intensity = 30, Elevation = 50
44) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Settings:
Vertical = 0
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 100, Blur = 1.00
(Or a setting of your liking)
45) Move Tool
Move text to place of choice
46) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer
Settings:
Set Compression value to = 10
Chroma subsampling = YCbCr 2x2 1x1 1x1
Save Exif data = Not checked
