Paint Shop Pro - I used X2
(Tutorial will work with other versions)

Performance Notes
This tutorial is in 2 parts:
- Preparation
- Tag
The settings for different Tools and Effects will stay the same throughout the tutorial, unless new setting instructions are given

Preparation
1) Download and install Filters if necessary
(If you install filters you need to restart PSP afterwards)
2) File > Open
Open image of choice
3) Window > Duplicate
Close original
4) Edit > Copy
Minimize
Tag
5) File > New
Settings:
Width = 700 Pixels
Height = 400 Pixels
Resolution = 72.000 Pixels/inch
Raster Background = Checked
Color depth = RGB / 8 bits channel
Transparent = Checked
We will resize later to 600x250 Pixels
6) Edit > Paste As New Layer (your tube)
7) If tube is bigger than file:
Image > Resize (Shift + S)
Settings:
Width = 80 %
Height = 80
Resolution = 72.000 Pixels / Inch
Resample using = Bicubic
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Not checked
ok
8) Edit > Repeat Resize
Repeat until all of the tube is showing
Depending on the tube you work with, you might choose to resize in 50% steps to start with
9) Effects > Plugins > MuRa's Meister > Copies
Settings: Wall Paper(shrink)
Number = 20
Shift X = 50, Shift Y = 50
Angle = 0, Rotation = 100
Attenuation = 0, Scale = 100
Thru BG Range = 0
Fade Out = 0
10) Edit > Repeat Copies
11) Adjust > Blur > Radial Blur
Settings:
Blur type = Zoom
Strength (%) = 61
Elliptical = Not checked
Horizontal offset (%) = 0
Vertical offset (%) = 0
Protect center (%) = 0
12) Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance More
13) Effects > Plugins > Toadies > Plain Mosaic
Settings:
Cell Width = 14
Cell Height = 8
Cell Edges On/Off =9
14) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise
Settings:
Uniform = Checked
Noise = 15 %
Monochrome = Checked
15) Effects > Distortion Effects > Wave
Settings:
Horizontal Displacement
Amplitude = 6
Wavelength = 100
Vertical Displacement
Amplitude = 4
Wavelength = 18
Edge Mode = Wrap
16) Selection Tool (S) > Custom Selection
Settings:
Top = 75
Left = 50, Right = 650
Bottom =325
17) Image > Crop to Selection
18) Edit > Paste As New Layer (your tube)
19) If tube is bigger than file:
Image > Resize
Settings:
Width = 80 %
Height = 80
20) Edit > Repeat Resize
Repeat until the tube is showing to your liking.
Depending on the tube you work with, you might choose to resize in
50% steps to start with
21) Adjust > Sharpness > Unsharp Mask
Settings:
Radius = 5.00, Strength = 30
Clipping = 30
Luminance only = Not checked
(Or a setting of your liking)
22) Move Tool (M)
Move tube into position of choice
23) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Settings:
Vertical & Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 44
Blur = 10.00
Color = Black
Shadow on new layer = Not checked
(Or a setting of your liking)
24) Optional:
Edit > Repeat Drop Shadow
25) Materials Palette
Settings:
Foreground Color = Black
Texture = Not checked
Background = Color of choice (for text)
26) Layers > New Raster Layer
27) Selections > Select All
28) Flood Fill Tool
Left click to flood fill new layer with Black
29) Selections > Modify > Contract
Settings:
Number of Pixels = 2
30) Edit > Clear
31) Selections > Select None
32) Layers > New Raster Layer
33) Add your artist's copyrights
34) Text Tool (T)
Settings:
Font = Melody Stories (or Font of choice)
Size = 48 Points (or what suits your Font and Text)
Font Style = Bold
Alignment = Center
Direction = Horizontal and Down
Anti-alias = Sharp
Stroke width = 1.2
Create as Vector
Auto kern = Checked
Kerning = 0 (or what suits your Font and Text)
35) Type Text of choice and click on Apply
36) Layers > Convert to Raster Layer
37) Move Tool
Move text to place of choice
38) Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 4000 > Gradient Glow
Settings:
Basic Tab:
Glow width (pixels) = 3.00
Soft Corners (%) = 25
Overall Opacity (%) = 100
Draw Only Outside Selection = Checked
Color Tab:
Drop down menu = Fat
Click on big left square and choose color
Activate 2nd arrow and choose a color
(I usually choose something very light)
Move both arrows and diamonds to your liking
If you do not have Eye Candy 4000, use a Drop Shadow of choice
39) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer
Settings:
Set Compression value to = 10
Chroma subsampling = YCbCr 2x2 1x1 1x1
Save Exif data = Not checked
